DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will evaluate intricate permit applications related to water allocations and public water systems, as well as perform pre-operational inspections at these facilities. Your responsibilities will also include conducting additional assessments and providing technical rankings for community water system applications seeking financial support through the PENNVEST program. Moreover, you will offer guidance to owners and operators of public water systems, as well as the general public, regarding the stipulations and provisions outlined in the Pennsylvania Safe Drinking Water Act.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
Two years as an Environmental Engineering Specialist; or
Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and a bachelors degree in environmental engineering or in any engineering field that includes or is supplemented by 9 credits in environmental engineering.
Graduate study in environmental engineering or in a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Conditions of Employment:

This position requires possession of a valid drivers license which is not under suspension.

This position requires the possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
