MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEER

REQUIREMENTS:

⦁ Analyze, develop, and coordinate manufacturing process instructions. Confer with production planning and product design staff concerning product design, tooling, and workforce training.

⦁ Work with design engineers to ensure design for manufacturing (DFM) elements is incorporated into production releases.

⦁ Lead operations group for new product introductions to assure smooth transition/hand-off to production.

⦁ Design and evaluate new existing lay-out, product flow, fixtures and equipment, test methods, and standards supporting a LEAN manufacturing environment.

⦁ Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow, and designs lay-out of equipment workspace for maximum efficiency.

⦁ Maintain configuration control for multiple FileMaker Pro databases.

⦁ Identify production constraints and bottlenecks; and recommend methods to eliminate.

⦁ Utilize SPC to refine methods, improve quality, and increase through-put.

⦁ Maintain MSDS records.

⦁ Attend weekly change control meetings to approve/disapprove engineering changes.

⦁ Research and recommend capital equipment purchases for manufacturing assembly purposes.

⦁ Develop labor hours for all products as a baseline for continuous improvement projects.

⦁ Provide manufacturing/process engineering support for printed circuit board assembly line. Requires experience with SMT processes such as screen printing, component placement equipment and re-flow solder equipment.

⦁ Provide manufacturing/process engineering support for cable/harness assembly, chassis assembly and final unit assembly.

⦁ Identify and recommend manufacturing technologies to strategically develop business objectives.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

⦁ Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

⦁ Experience with ISO-9000.

⦁ Five (5) plus years’ experience as an Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineer.

⦁ Experience working with a government regulated agency, a plus.

⦁ Proficient computer skills, such as, spreadsheets, word editor, database, and CAD.

⦁ Ability to create and comprehend blueprint drawings.

⦁ Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
