Summary This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent serves as an IT requirements analyst in the Mission Support Component of the Defense Media Activity (DMA) responsible for analysis, planning, design, implementation,documentation, assessment, and management of the customer requirements. Responsibilities This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) “Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense,” dated December 22, 2023. As a IT SPECIALIST (ENTARCH/SYSANALYSIS) at the GS-2210-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as an IT requirements analyst in the Mission Support Component of the Defense Media Activity (DMA) responsible for analysis, planning, design, implementation,documentation, assessment, and management of the customer requirements. Uses DoD,Architectural Framework (DoDAF) to align customer requirements with IT strategy, goals, structure, and processes of the Component. The analyst is assigned to the Enterprise Architecture and Requirements Directorate and uses a high-level view of the direction of Mission Support within the DMA and plans for the necessary resources to accomplish goals while being compliant with DoD policies, government information architecture, and the structure of the DoDAF. Serves as a technical advisor to the Director of Enterprise Architecture & Requirements on issues related to customer requirements as vetted by DMA Components. Provides enterprise level expertise in DMA IT services and infrastructure and their integration in the global architecture of DMA. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Planning and coordinating a wide range of activities designed to insure and to protect IT systems, services, and capabilities. Monitoring and evaluating vulnerabilities of automated information systems to prevent, assess and resolve risks associated with firewalls and security policies. Analysis and evaluation of IT network systems performance, technology rollout planning and insertion using least disruptive practices, cybersecurity principles, concepts and practices, programs, and issues of the Information System Security Management (ISSM) program area. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position has an individual occupational requirement (IOR) which must be met in order to qualify for this position. You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following four competencies listed below: 1. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
