Postdoctoral Fellow – Center for Language and Speech Processing

The Center for Language and Speech Processing (CLSP) at the Johns Hopkins University seeks applicants for postdoctoral fellowship positions in speech, natural language processing and machine learning. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and a strong research record.

Possible research topics include:

Explainable AI, natural language processing and medicine

Clinical natural language processing

Evaluation of large language model generation

CLSP is one of the worlds largest academic centers focused on speech and language. CLSP is home to over a dozen faculty members, multiple postdocs, and over 80 graduate students. It has a history of placing students in top academic and industry positions, with a large network of alumni at Google, Amazon, Microsoft Research, Bloomberg, IBM Research, Facebook, Twitter, Nuance, BBN, and numerous startups.

Some positions are joint with the HLTCOE. Located adjacent to Johns Hopkins beautiful Homewood campus in Baltimore, Maryland, the HLTCOE conducts long-term and applied research on fundamental challenges driven by real-world problems. Its staff scientists publish widely in premier venues, and, through close collaboration with members of CLSP, make Johns Hopkins one of the worlds largest and fastest growing academic research groups in the field.

Applicants are not required to be US citizens or permanent residents.

Multiple positions are available that are renewable on a yearly basis, in some cases for up to three (3) years.

Applications consist of a CV and contact information for 3 recommenders who can supply letters on request. You do not need to specify a specific project of interest.
