Summary This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Responsibilities NOTE: The DoD Force on Force Program was formerly known as MIGHTY GUARDIAN As a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST (NUCLEAR) at the GS-0080-13/14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Provide day-to-day supervision of the DoD Force on Force program team duties and responsibilities on behalf of the team lead/exercise director Provide expert nuclear physical security policy and doctrine advice to DoD officials through the DoD Force on Force program results Apply knowledge of nuclear physical security requirements at the DoD, NATO and Service levels to nuclear security policy evaluation programs (DoD Force on Force and STEADFAST NOMAD) Reviews, analyzes and evaluates problem solving, and standardized practices and procedures to evaluate problematic nuclear physical security issues and concepts Participate in interagency panels and studies involving DoD, NATO, individual Services, DOE, Government Accountability Office (GAO), Joint Staff as the DTRA point of contact or representative Writes and staffs executive level reports, studies, and papers Plans, organizes, and adjusts to manage multiple tasks and projects Serves as a technical and policy advisor to multiple DoD projects, programs, committees, and groups Directs support to the DoD Security Policy Verification Committee, the Interagency Technology Senior Steering Group, the DoD Physical Security Enterprise Analysis Group, the NATO Joint Theater Surety Management Group, the Office of the Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters, and others. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with foreign partners and U.S. interagency counterparts; Demonstrated experience managing, planning, and executing multiple projects; Experience preparing project plans, acquisition project baselines, acquisition strategies, implementation plans, and funding plans, and; Demonstrated experience with nuclear physical security requirements You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Experience preparing, evaluating, and coordinating multi-disciplined physical security plans; Experience assessing and evaluating physical security programs and adapting as necessary to ensure successful outcomes; Experience leading multi-disciplined teams of contractors, civilians and military to ensure success; Demonstrated experience communicating program requirements to senior level civilian and military personnel via written and oral briefings, and; Demonstrated expertise in U.S nuclear policy, doctrine, and standards. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
