Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position will work in the WIC department, under the direct supervision of the PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITIONIST SUPERVISOR. All SENIOR CLERKS may be required to rotate between the call center and receptionist areas according to staffing needs. Employee may be required to travel to another Volusia WIC site to provide client services.

Telephone

Answering multi-line phone and inputting information into the FLWiSE computer system.

Transferring phone calls to multiple locations and recipients. Responsible for triaging calls to program staff for proper and timely handling.

Assists callers and clients with program questions, appointment scheduling and informing them what they may need to bring at their upcoming appointment.

Assist clients with re-scheduling appointments.

Maintains logs for voicemail.

Responsible for WIC texting report.

Refer complaints to the supervisor when necessary. Keep abreast of all changes within the FLWise Data System.

Request client transfer information from other local or Out of State WIC Agencies.

Clinic

Assist clerical staff as needed.

Completes timesheet, EARs, time summaries, and mandatory training in a timely and accurate manner.

Attends staff meetings as required.

Maintains current knowledge of programs guidelines, requirements, and procedures.

Other duties as assigned within the scope of class title.

Ability to communicate effectively

Qualifications:

Minimum –

Must have at least 2 years of customer service experience

Must be willing to support the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County’s position against tobacco use

Must have basic computer skills

Preferred –

Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
