Tradition Hospitals Emergency Department has multidisciplinary care teams and state-of-the-art technology needed to diagnose and treat patients efficiently and effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

A caregiver in this position works 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.

Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.

Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.

Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.

Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.

Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.

Provide or assist with basic patient care activities, such as vital signs, weights, personal care, activities of daily living, patient transfers and transports, pulse oximetry and point of care testing.

Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to an RN.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High school diploma or GED.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

One year of recent, full-time experience in patient care or customer service OR additional education/training OR a nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing program.

Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.

Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Microsoft Office experience.
