PCSI is looking for an Appliance Mechanic in Ft. Knox, Kentucky! This position will report to the Utilities Supervisor and is based out of Ft. Knox, Kentucky.

Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday.

What Youll Do as an Appliance Mechanic:

Installs, services and repairs stoves, refrigerators, dishwashing machines, and other electrical household or commercial appliances, using hand tools, test equipment and following wiring diagrams and manufacturers specifications.

Connects appliance to power source and test meters, such as wattmeter, ammeter, or voltmeter, observes readings on meters and graphic recorders, examines appliance during operating cycle to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks and loose parts, and disassembles appliances and examines mechanical and electrical parts.

Traces electrical circuits, following diagram and locates shorts and grounds, using ohmmeter, calibrates timers, thermostats and adjusts contact points, and cleans and washes parts, using wire brush, buffer, and solvent to remove carbon, grease, and dust.

Replaces worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers and defective wiring, repairs and adjusts appliance motors, reassembles appliance, adjusts pulleys and lubricates moving parts, using hand tools and lubricating equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

What Youll Need to Be Successful:

High School Diploma or GED.

1-3 years related technical or practical experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.

Demonstrated ability to perform multiple assignments concurrently.

Demonstrated ability for long-term planning.

Must possess the ability to develop a positive working relationship with customers and employees.

Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.

Other Requirements:

Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.

Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.

Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.

Must Possess current Commercial Driver License (Class A or B), if required for the equipment and vehicles operated, and maintain a clean motor vehicle record (MVR).

If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
