Inventory Control Supervisor (3rd Shift)

Position Summary
Oversee and coordinate logistics activities for inventory control and production preparation in a Food Manufacturing Warehouse on 3rd Shift. Train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of the logistics associates. Monitor warehouse inventory to ensure products are stored and transacted in an accurate and efficient manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
Warehouse Logistics Function
Assign daily cycle counts based on ABC analysis.
Validate counts and post accordingly. Understand adjustment and posting process.
Ensure assigned counts are completed daily—no exceptions.
Manage MRO, Kanban items, and non-inventory items as necessary.
Report weekly on results of daily cycle counts. Track key metrics including count completion %, inventory accuracy, % of ABC completion.
Ensure product is stored in appropriate location in compliance with food safety, allergens, and FEFO.
Thoroughly understand allergens and enforce proper storage.
Perform and document daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse audits and discuss finding and corrective actions with Logistics Manager and applicable parties.
Monitor cycle counting performance
Communicate with Logistics Manager, Customer Service, Supply Chain Manager, and Demand Planning on stock shortages, overages, and damages with corrective action plan.
Understand silo reconciliation process.
Supervise Logistics team on 3rd shift.
Cross-train on warehouse logistics for inbound and outbound freight.
Designate dock locations for inbound and outbound carriers based on dock availability, type of freight and time constraints to ensure the timely receipt of freight and shipping of product.
Ensure that shipments match pick ticket before load is released.
Maintain warehouse reporting on related KPIs including freight cost.
Analyze and evaluate current processes with recommendations for improvement to create a more efficient fulfillment system.
Assist and/or perform special projects and other duties as assigned or needed.
Team Building & Supervision
Supervise and direct logistics staff making associate safety top priority.
Responsible for associate development through training on policy & procedures according to company policies and SOP’s.
Work with Logistics Manager to monitor warehouse associates’ performance, attendance, and document disciplinary issues.
Assign workload to meet production demands and cycle counting schedule.
Supervise all forklift operations on shift.
Use Root Cause Analysis to investigate warehouse issues and put corrective actions into place.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
Associates Degree or relevant industry experience is required.
A minimum of 3 years Logistics distribution/warehousing experience and 1 year of experience managing hourly workforce required.
Forklift and scissor lift certified.
Experience with warehouse transactions, ERP or WMS systems, etc. Familiarity with inventory control.
Communication and Analytical Skills:
Ability to lead off-shift and communicate effectively via email
Strong leadership skills and ability to develop future talent
Ability to do multiple tasks and have good follow through to meet deadlines
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook…) is required

Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with minimal supervision
Flexibility to work alternate hours, including days or nights, weekends, or holidays
Ability to sit occasionally / stand and walk frequently / drive forklift, pallet jack, scissor lift
Ability to lift 50lbs and push/pull/ bend/ stoop/ reach/ grasp/ twist according to job need
Ability to work in ambient, refrigerated, and frozen warehouses
Ability to interact professionally with honesty and respect towards everybody
