Job Description
Digital transformation, business automation and resilience, and sustainability are resulting in an evolving technology landscape. Emerging cloud-native models, Internet of things, Operational Technology merging with Information Technology, immersive applications, and the rapid expansion of cyber attack surfaces, are dramatically impacting networking architectures and operations. Here at Avery Dennison, we are excited to look for a Solution Engineer to join our global team! In this role, you will contribute to defining our enterprise network road-map, technology preferences, and solutions. You will also work within a team, and with external partners, responsible for the successful design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of network connectivity & security related services. Our service portfolio also includes active directory, remote access solutions, DNS & domain management and other related services that are expected to evolve to meet business needs.

Job Responsibilities
Working with management, develop strategy, technology preferences and standards
Identify solutions to new business requirements, develop business cases, and socialize to gain support
Implement reliable and secure enterprise network infrastructure. Inclusive of SDWAN, secure security edge, multi-cloud connectivity, internet access, ZTNA & remote worker solutions, cloud networking, branch networking, data center
Help ensure solution development and use conformance to company strategy and policies
Perform technical & vendor evaluations and provide readouts and recommendations
Participate in and support projects across all business functions
Through the use of advanced tools and experience, resolve issues that tiers of support have raised (can include on-call support duties)
Be a technical liaison between management, cross-functional technical teams, service desk support staff and procurement
Technical management of managed service providers
Mentoring team members
Ongoing optimization such as traffic management configuration, capacity planning, security policies, and troubleshooting processes to ensure adequate application delivery
Develop as-built documentation processes and provide support to maintain network diagrams and operational procedures
Uses knowledge and expertise to identify and implement cost optimization opportunities
Lifecycle management for network infrastructure
Assist with service positioning and user adoption of related technologies & services, taking into account regional considerations (language, business practices, culture etc…)
Travel as required to collaborate with IT partners and project teams (estimate 10%)
Qualifications
Requires 8 years of experience in enterprise network design and support (broad technology exposure desired, however, emphasis on branch networking – wired/wireless, WAN & NGFW, and/or cloud networking)
Can demonstrate interest, proficiency, continued skill development specifically in cloud networking and security solutions
Zero-Trust architecture related experience is beneficial
3 years working with multi-national networks/providers and managed services
3 years leading cross-functional teams including vendors and internal IT staff
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not a requirement
Cisco CCNP or Fortinet NSE (Enterprise, Security, Data Center) or equivalent certifications are a plus
Proven capability of delivering a broad range of traditional networking technologies and tools (e.g. routing and switching, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), LAN systems,WAN transport (MPLS, DIA, broadband), WLAN, firewalls, load balancers, web proxies, DNS, DHCP, Network Access Control, packet sniffers and analysis, performance management tools (SNMP, Netflow etc)
Exceptional understanding of technical troubleshooting methodology
Ability to facilitate problem solving among administrative groups with varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with administrative users, technical staff, and senior management.
Strong practical experience and proven methods for traffic management, security controls, and capacity planning across different network domains (WAN, LAN, WLAN)
Knowledge of applicable laws, guidelines or regulations as they relate to global networking
Strong oral, written and document creation, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills across organizational boundaries.
Demonstrated project leading experience – constructing business cases, overseeing implementations, management reporting
Benefit from having IT financial planning and budgeting experience
Active Directory / Identity and access management experience (nice to have)
The salary range for this position is $105,250 – $142,352 / year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
