The School Secretary plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the school, serving as the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The School Secretary will support administrative functions, maintain records, and ensure smooth communication within the school environment.
Duties
– Manage front office operations, including greeting visitors and answering phone calls with professionalism and courtesy.
– Maintain accurate student records and files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies.
– Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings, and events for school staff and administration.
– Perform clerical duties such as typing correspondence, proofreading documents, and managing office supplies.
– Coordinate communication between teachers, parents, and students regarding school activities and policies.
– Support office management tasks by organizing files, maintaining an orderly workspace, and ensuring efficient office procedures.
– Utilize computer software for data entry, record keeping, and other administrative tasks as needed.
– Assist the Principal in effectively maintaining communications between his office and all with whom communication is necessary – church and school staff here and at other locations, families, prospective school parents, volunteers, church members, outside agencies, etc.
– Any other administrative duties as assigned by the Principal
Qualifications
– Proven experience in clerical or administrative roles; experience as a personal assistant is a plus.
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
– Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in word processing software and office applications.
– Demonstrated phone etiquette with strong communication skills to interact positively with diverse individuals.
– Attention to detail for accurate proofreading of documents and correspondence.
– Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
– Familiarity with office management practices is preferred but not required.
– This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting the educational environment through effective administration and communication skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16,834.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 per week
