Job Title: Wastewater Process Engineer

Job Description:

This Project or Process Engineering role focuses on various Water Treatment and Wastewater projects, including Pumping stations and CSO facilities, primarily in SE Michigan with possible assignments in Lansing, Grand Rapids, and northern Michigan. The projects are mainly for municipalities.

DUTIES:

– Develop and manage designs, drawings, and specifications for industrial development projects.

– Collaborate in a team environment on complex urban infrastructure projects, including storm and sanitary systems, pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, and headworks.

– Utilize a range of computer packages to develop detailed designs, including MS Office, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and Civil 3D.

– Resolve design and construction problems.

– Manage budgets and project resources.

– Develop cost estimates and project schedules.

– Ensure projects run smoothly and are completed on time.

– Participate in contract bidding and construction administration.

– Willingly participate in a team-oriented environment as well as function independently.

– Conduct field investigations to diagnose issues.

– Develop reports and preliminary concepts.

– Desire varied experience and adaptability to change.

Must-Haves:

Bachelor’s in Civil or similar engineering degree

4 plus years of Water/Wastewater project experience (either design and/or construction)

EIT or PE

Experience in pumping systems, biological treatment, sludge handling, clarification, and/or disinfection

Experience preparing construction plans, estimates, specifications and bid documents for projects in these fields.

CAD Knowledge

Bonus Qualifications:

Experience/knowledge with electrical, mechanical, piping, plumbing, architectural, instrumentation & control, structural, etc.

PE license

Project Management skills

Work Site:

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Detroit, Michigan and some days remote.

Work Environment:

M-F, 40-45 hours/week, mix of office and field work. 4 days in the office, 1 day remote optional work schedule. This position can be based in either the Bloomfield Hills or Detroit office.
