ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Additional or other duties may be assigned.

Serves as a standard bearer for Manatt’s mission to safely do everything we do better than anyone else and purpose of building legacies through standards of excellence.

Supports, adheres to, and vocalizes company safety standards and policies, ensuring they and everyone they interact with goes home in the same condition they came to work.

Participates in clear and regular two-way communications with everyone at all facilities.

Supports, assists, and encourages team members at the plant, jobsite, and elsewhere, to create a clean, safe, and enjoyable workplace.

Uses ultra high-pressure water to remove concrete buildup from the interior of the mixer drum.

Responsible for removing hardened concrete on the exterior of the truck as well. (Power washer on the unit can clean exterior as well).

Pile discarded concrete on the ground where it can be hauled away.

Ensures assigned vehicle is following state and federal regulations, including daily maintenance of pre and post trip inspection reports, all certifications are up to date, and current registration and insurance cards are in the appropriate places including unit, trailer and tow vehicle.

Performs maintenance on chipper engine and pump.

Monitors performance and change parts when needed (nozzles, packing, univalves, o-rings, and seals).

Maintains spare parts inventory.

Assist in site preparations, shuttles, and prepares trucks for chipping.

Inspections of trucks for cleanliness and damages. Replacement of hatch bolts, seals and or hopper pins if necessary.

Meet or exceed company safety standards by operating vehicles in a safe manner and abiding by all State and Federal Department of Transportation traffic laws, rules, and regulations.

Observe and resolve obvious OSHA, EPA or MSHA violations or potential problems and report them to operations team.

Communicate and c ollaborate with plant managers to ensure mixer trucks are maintaining maximum capacity.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

General experience with hydro chipping equipment.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years maintenance/fabrication related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to develop and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with airbrakes endorsement with the opportunity to obtain a Class A CDL (company paid) after hire.

Current IDOT Physical required and must remain current thereafter.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

HCT will be working in varying weather conditions and environments with substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting, or working in awkward or strained positions. M ust be able to lift up to 80 lbs. alone and HCT will also be required to work in confined, tight spaces at times.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

HCT will be working overtime, odd hours, and nights as well as some weekends as business needs determine. Overnight travel will be required as necessary.

While performing duties of this job, the HCT is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The HCT is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration and the noise level in the work environment is usually loud. All appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn where and when required.
