Warehouse Supervisor
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate/schedule all outbound traffic and freight. Extensive use of SAP transactions and email communications with DuPont Customer Service Representatives to coordinate and manage shipments. Engage carriers, vendors, and DuPont shipping/receiving personnel to monitor status, goods issuing and receipt of inbound/outbound materials.
• Order raw material/packaging using SAP transactions and significant communication with vendors. Work closely with DuPont corporate sourcing and supply chain to understand business needs, ensure sufficient inventory levels and on time delivery of materials.
• Lead a team of 6 direct reports (5 warehouse and 1 operations day support).
• SAP Key user. Provide issue resolution, direction and support for all SAP related items for the DuPont Fort Madison Site.
• Manage SAP inventory cycle count process. Ensure all weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly SAP cycle counts are complete within the required schedule. Provide reconciliation support as needed.
• Utilize DuPont freight payment reconciliation system for on time payment of carriers
• Facilitate Visual Performance Management activities with team members including any problem solving.
• Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse
• Manage Warehouse layout for efficient inventory management and care.
• Monitor min/max levels and order points (or safety stock number)
• Develop and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the teams.
• Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear.
• Interpret short to mid-term area plans, including improvement activities, and organize team members to execute the plans; ensuring availability of equipment, labor and materials.
• Coordinate daily work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads
• Investigate incidents and injuries and prepare reports of findings.
• May serve as Incident Commander for emergency response situations.
• Set expectations and hold people accountable for Core Value compliance (SHE/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People) and model the appropriate behavior.
• Leads or participates in investigation of quality non-conformances for the Area and determines appropriate corrective action.
• Ensure employees comply with established Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Operating Conditions including production related components of a quality system such as ISO.
• Builds and strengthens work team capabilities to include both technical and soft skills.
• Collaborates with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
• Completes Leader Standard Work practices, including frequent “line walks” and routine coaching of team members
• Completes personnel administrative activities such as approving time cards, corrective action, compliance with personnel policies and prepares other administrative reports of employee information.
• Encourages and coaches employees on appropriate mindsets and behaviors.
• Encourages employee’s engagement and fosters empowerment and ownership through leader standard work practices.
• Evaluates employee performance and prepares performance appraisals.
• Initiates the awards and recognition process for individuals and/or teams, and celebrates, area’s accomplishments.
• Organize and manage staffing levels to ensure adequate support for production needs
• Participates in employee hiring and selection processes
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, supply chain or relevant field preferred
• Effective communication skills, written and oral
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel & Word
• Strong working knowledge of SAP
• Strong trouble shooting skills
• Experience in inventory management and reconciliation
• Capability to learn quickly and work in a self-directed team environment
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to deal with last minute requests
• Previous experience in logistics, distribution, and/or supply chain preferred
• Previous experience in a supervisory position preferred
• APICS CPIM preferred
• Six Sigma Green/Black belt preferred
• Experience in lean manufacturing
