Readiness Coaching: Equip students with essential workforce skills.
Youll support them in resume writing, interview preparation,
networking, and workplace etiquette. Project-Based Learning: Benefit
from strong training and support to implement project-based learning,
creating hands-on activities that foster real-world problem-solving
skills. Goal Achievement Mentorship: Inspire and mentor students as they
set and achieve their personal, educational, and career goals. Help them
dream big and provide the structure to make those dreams a reality.
Community Partnerships: Establish relationships with local businesses,
organizations, and colleges to create career opportunities for students,
including job shadowing and internships. Student Advocacy: Act as a
champion for your students, ensuring they have the necessary resources
and support to navigate challenges both in and out of the classroom. Why
This Job is Unique: As a JAG Career Specialist, you are much more than a
teacher; you are a coach, mentor, and leader. This role empowers you to

fulfilling careers, breaking down barriers, and leaving a lasting impact
on their futures. Maintain accurate and complete student records as
required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Counsel students regarding educational issues, such as course and
program selection, class scheduling and registration, school adjustment,
truancy, study habits, and career planning. Confer with parents or
guardians, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to discuss
childrens progress, resolve behavioral, academic, and other problems,
and to determine priorities for students and their resource needs. Teach
classes and present self-help or information sessions on subjects
related to education and career planning. Provide special services such
as alcohol and drug prevention programs and classes that teach students
to handle conflicts without resorting to violence. Instruct individuals
in career development techniques, such as job search and application
strategies, resume writing, and interview skills. Evaluate students or
individuals abilities, interests, and personality characteristics,
using tests, records, interviews, or professional sources. Refer
students to degree programs based on interests, aptitudes, or
educational assessments. Assess needs for assistance, such as
rehabilitation, financial aid, or additional vocational training, and
refer clients to the appropriate services. APPLICATION
