Analytics Engineers develop accurate and robust analytical models, datasets, and data pipelines that support business decision making. They work closely with data analyst, data scientist, and data engineers to develop solutions that empower business resources to make data-driven decisions via self-service and AI capabilities. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of leveraging data modeling, business intelligence tools, and database technologies to convert raw data into actionable insights.

SKILLS

Duties & Responsibilities

Work closely with data scientists, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs.

Design, build, and maintain data models, reporting systems, and data automation systems that support key business decisions.

Develop and implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure quality standards, organizational expectations, and regulatory requirements.

Develops and maintains documentation of solutions, user guides, policies, and procedures. Provides employee training on newly developed models.

Optimizes architecture for efficient querying and reporting.

Mentor’s junior analytics engineers, conducts code reviews and acts as a resource to others to resolve problems.

Adhere Data Governance first mindset and ensure that all data is managed in accordance with HIPAA, departmental and corporate guidelines to safeguard privacy and confidentiality, applying appropriate techniques to mask and encrypt data when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, or related field, or the foreign degree equivalent. Additional years of qualifying relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

PL300 certification or equivalent

4 years in BI, data science, Analytics, Data, or equivalent space

4 years’ experience with relational Databases (SQL Server, DB2, Snowflake) and Data Processes

4 years building tabular and/or multi-dimensional models.

4 years Power BI or equivalent data visualization tools (Tableau, Cognos, MicroStrategy)

Strong SQL and Dax Skills

Experience using scripting languages (Python, R, Java, PowerShell, etc.)

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of Insurance/Healthcare industry or equivalent

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Work-at-home requirements

Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.

A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30×5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.

Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms

Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. GEHA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

The annual base salary range for this position is $90,470 – $127,530 USD.
