Who will you be working with?

Shuttlewagon, a Wabtec Company is looking for a Material Handler. The Material Handler is responsible for accurately managing inventory and parts for the production environment as well as external customers in a warehouse environment. Efficiency and on time delivery is essential for high customer satisfaction.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Services Division, you will be responsible for maintaining high levels of customer service by delivering parts and components to the production team and outside dealers and RCM owners. Team members may assist less experienced team members with knowledge and expertise.

What do we want to know about you?

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

2 years in a warehouse or distribution environment

2 years of forklift experience preferred

Ability to operate a computer to read and input data

Ability to operate hand tools and read measuring devices

Ability to read and interpret standard work instructions

Behavioral Attributes

Ability to communicate effectively to team members and management

Ability to hold themselves accountable for results

Ability to think critically and troubleshoot problems

What will your typical day look like?

Able to accurately pull parts for production areas and accurately stock parts in warehouse locations

Perform Cycle counting

Shipping/Receiving of outgoing & incoming materials

Maintain a clean/organized work area through daily 5S and maintain equipment accordingly

Comply with all stated Nordco safety requirements and company policies

Safe operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and motorized equipment

Safe operation, loading & unloading of mobile rail car movers

Training of new employees

General Duties

Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Complete production and quality assurance forms

Participate actively in team meetings and group discussions

Interface with engineering to accurately communicate information

Actively participate in continuous improvement activities or events as required

Adhere to Quality Management System Requirements

5S activities

Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English

What about the physical demands of the job?

Employee is required to wear appropriate PPE such as steel toe boots and safety glasses and hearing protection.

Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, bend, work underneath equipment, reach above shoulders, and climb

Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
