Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a Director of
Post Awards to provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight for
all sponsored research activities at Pittsburg State University by
managing research administration, overseeing grant processes, and
strategically securing funding across various sectors, including
government agencies, private foundations, and industry partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
Post Award Management & Compliance (30%):
– Manage post-award activities like project setup, financial
management, reporting, and closeout.
– Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations
and policies related to sponsored research.
– Serve as the Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR),
managing official communications, award acceptance, and compliance
with institutional commitments.
– Monitor grant activities for compliance with terms and conditions,
ethical standards, and institutional policies.
Strategic Planning (25%):
– Develop and implement a strategic plan for sponsored programs,
aligning with the institutions mission and goals.
– Identify and prioritize funding opportunities, including grants,
contracts, and partnerships, to support the research agenda.
– Promote a culture of research excellence and innovation across the
institution.
– Monitor grant activities, generate reports on compliance and
financial performance, and identify areas for improvement.
– Analyze data on research activities, funding trends, and outcomes to
inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Policy Development and Risk Management (25%):
– Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures related to
grant administration and compliance.
– Assist in developing project budgets, ensuring accurate and
compliant financial planning.
– Establish internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure adherence
to sponsor requirements.
– Prepare and present reports on sponsored research activities to
institutional leadership and other stakeholders.
Partnership and Research Compliance (10%):
– Foster relationships with funding agencies, industry partners,
foundations, and other external stakeholders.
– Collaborate with internal departments and units to support
interdisciplinary research initiatives and promote collaborative
projects.
– Oversee the organization and management of research-driven
committees and events both on and off campus, including CRaCE, IRB,
Colloquium, and student research.
Other duties as assigned (10%):
– Continuously assess and improve processes, systems, and services to
support the evolving needs of researchers and the institution.
– Serve on committees for research and advancement
