Job Summary

Employee will be responsible for ensuring the quality high precision assemblies or components with strict adherence to the established specifications. The job requires attention to fine detail and an ability to maintain consistent process. In addition to inspecting parts, employee will complete inspection records in a computer database and package all assemblies.

Summary of Essential Job Duties

Support the RPO Quality Policy by ensuring that parts meet robust quality standards.

Inspect optics in Cleanroom Assembly, Electro-Optical Assembly, and New Product Introduction.

Package optics in Assembly departments.

Complete inspection records on computer database.

Clean optics as required using solvents

Work closely with Supervisors and Shipping team to ensure on-time exits of parts.

Report any anomalies or quality issues discovered each day to Supervisors and Manager.

Qualifications, Requirements and Competencies

Educational Requirements:

Experience with handling and inspecting optics. Experience in a production environment.

Ability to read prints for part number, revision, and scratch-dig requirements.

GED or High School diploma.

Minimum Requirements:

Excellent time management skills.

Excellent attention to fine detail, including the ability to adhere to detailed instructions repetitively.

Good dexterity and visual acuity.

Actively maintains a clean and organized workspace.

Comfortable using computers, including sending emails and finding prints.

Good communication skills.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to communicate effectively to team members and management.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms and to use hands and fingers to handle, maneuver parts

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear

The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May involve prolonged periods of magnified inspection (eye strain)

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp

The employee is frequently required to use the computer

The job may require regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Job requires flexibility in schedule and potential overtime or weekend work

Work Environment:

May involve the use of oils and solvents.

Subject to some soilage and irritation from cleaning solutions. (Lab Coats provided)

Generally, works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.

Safety Glasses are required

May require area specific safety training

This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne paper particles.

May work at different workstations as needs require
