Job Description
Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator
Position Summary: In collaboration with the Human Resources Director, provide administrative Human Resources support to employees and supervisors in the areas of onboarding, compensation, employee relations, and enforcing policies and procedures for assigned affiliated agencies: Gateway-Longview, Inc. and New Directions Youth and Family Services.

In collaboration with the Human Resources Director, oversee the recruitment and hiring process for Gateway-Longview employment opportunities to ensure there is an adequate flow of qualified and diverse candidates for all employment and internship opportunities.

$19.50 – $23.90 per hour

Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide guidance on company benefits and policies to supervisors and employees in order to ensure consistent Human Resources practices
Maintain up to date personnel files and ensure that necessary documentation is obtained.
Present Human Resources topics at monthly New Hire Orientation which includes completing necessary onboarding paperwork and orienting employees on benefits enrollment and options
In collaboration with HR Generalist, assist with coordinating required updates for staff including but not limited to annual physicals and background checks
Work collaboratively across affiliated agencies to plan and implement wellness activities as an active member of the Wellness Committee
Assist Benefits Manager with leave of absence questions and paperwork as needed
Respond to unemployment insurance claims within required time frames. Represent the agency at unemployment hearings
Ensure proper documentation provided to payroll including transfers, confirmation paperwork, tuition assistance requests and reimbursements
Maintain quarterly anniversary award lists and certificates for presentation at all-staff meetings
All duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Self-motivated and detail oriented with excellent verbal and communication skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage candidates and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds
Qualifications
Associates degree in Human Resources or related field and 1 year of relevant experience
Valid New York State Driver’s License
