  DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role demands a high level of expertise and technical proficiency, as the chief operator is tasked with overseeing the maintenance, operation, and adherence to regulatory standards of a large and intricate wastewater treatment facility. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of wastewater treatment services that significantly affect the community, particularly at Gifford Pinchot State Park. The chief operators responsibilities are vital for maintaining the plants functionality and compliance, thereby safeguarding public health and the environment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
Weekends and holidays may be required
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (commonwealth title); or
One year of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.

Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or greater than the classification and subclassification of the wastewater system to be operated or maintained (Class C, Subclass 1).
This position requires possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a water treatment plant operator that is equal to or greater than the classification and subclassification of the water system to be operated or maintained (Class C, Subclass 1).
This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C drivers license or equivalent.
