DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role requires a high level of expertise and technical proficiency, as the operator of the wastewater treatment plant is tasked with overseeing the maintenance, operation, and adherence to regulatory standards for a large and intricate wastewater treatment facility. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of wastewater treatment services that significantly affect the community, particularly at Gifford Pinchot State Park.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainee (commonwealth title) program and certification as a wastewater treatment plant operator for any class and type of plant; or
Possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator for any class and type of plant.
Special Requirements:
This position requires you to have possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or greater than the classification and sub classification of the wastewater system to be operated or maintained. (Class C – subclass 1 sewage license).
This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C drivers license or equivalent.
