Responsibilities: Assures that company employment, labor relations hiring policies and practices comply with Federal and State Labor Laws. Knowledge of recruiting, interview, hiring and/or referring for hire applicants for vacant positions for management and hourly. Considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of production, maintenance, clerical and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company’s organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

Duties:

Serves as a subject matter expert in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires, developing, facilitating, implementing all phases of the recruitment process, and providing guidance, advice, and follow-up to ensure compliance with policies, internal processes, local collective bargaining agreement, and employment laws.

Generates new strategies and programs to attract candidates and establish a pipeline of application flow.

Acts as point of contact for managers and provides support regarding recruitment strategies and issues, providing timely and appropriate guidance and offering management consultation and coaching.

Oversees the daily workflow of the department

Works with the General Manager and Department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.

Acts as an employee advocate providing coaching and advisory services

Answers questions and ensure compliance for all processes regarding HRIS.

Ensures regulatory compliance with Affirmative Action Plan, ADA, EEOC, etc.

Prepares and maintains records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data.

Supervise an employment coordinator and potentially a recruiter

Performs other duties as assigned

Maintain compliance with I-9 forms

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred

Preferred experience in talent acquisition: 2- 4 years

Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices and applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

2-3year experience in meat processing or other manufacturing setting preferred

Ability to interact with all levels of the organization

Ability to work in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.

Timely, responsive, accurate, and thorough in all written and verbal communication

Able to manage through complex issues by asking the right questions, utilizing resources, and gathering data to triage and solve problems

Strong time management and prioritization skills

Special Skills:

Computer Skills-Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint

Ability to apply good judgment and professional integrity in decision making

Excellent Communication Skills a must

Trustworthy – Will be Handling confidential material

Problem Solving & Multitasking

Prior supervisory experience

Relationships:

Internal: Works directly with the Human Resource Director, HR department and frequent communications with all department heads. Works with Corporate Compliance team on immigration and affirmative action related matters.

External: Applicants, Federal and State employment laws. Regular contact with various media sources, such as newspapers for advertising vacancies, etc.
