On-Call Copywriter

Description
Are you an experienced writer who can translate large amounts of information into clear, engaging summaries for a wide audience? We need you. We’re currently hiring writers who can use the source materials we provide to produce clean, concise reports – typically 10 to 20 pages long – on cancer research and training. We’re looking for someone to work with us on an as-needed basis, with the flexibility to work from zero to 30 hours per week. Send us some writing samples and your resume, and we’ll respond right away.
As On-Call Copywriter, you’ll:
Create written summaries of conference proceedings and other materials, such as white papers.
Communicate with researchers and marketing staff to gather information.
Potentially attend scientific meetings or conferences in the DC Metro Area to develop comprehensive summaries of discussions/presentations.
Deliver products reflective of ICF and client standards.
You’ll need:
Basic Qualifications
Six years of experience as a professional writer.
A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Professional Skills
Experience with science, public health, or cancer communications preferred.
Excellent writing and substantive editing skills, with solid attention to detail.
Writing samples, including long-form content.
Experience working with diverse teams, including researchers, editors, and marketing staff.

Pay Range – There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$63,511.00 – $107,968.00
