job summary:

A company in the Frederick, MD area is seeking a Software Controls Engineer. The Software Controls Engineer researches, develops, designs, and tests software for the control of HVAC equipment and other related systems. The Controls Engineer provides troubleshooting and support services for both factory and field software and control issues. This is a high priority search, salaried in the $100K range! This is a HYBRID position, reporting to the office only once a week or less.

responsibilities:

Read, interpret, and comment on customer specifications, sequence of operations, and BMS lists.

Provide Sales and Application Engineering team time estimates for software development projects

Read electrical schematics, unit layout drawings, SAP Bill of Materials, and component data sheets to gather necessary technical information for program inputs.

Coordinate control and communication technical details with component vendors.

Develop PLC software using Carel 1Tool or STone to control HVAC equipment in data center applications.

Coordinate communication with customer building management systems.

Participate in the international team of developers to create a common global software platform
