MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Amentum is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic II to join our team in Springfield, VA ! The Maintenance Mechanic II performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and
buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry work. Work can involve, but is not limited to, a variety of the following duties: replacing motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceiling; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replacing damaged
paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
Essential Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and identify cause of equipment malfunction, order repair parts and supplies as needed.
Informs supervisor of repairs covered under warranty or of defects in parts/workmanship in equipment.
Uses specifications, blueprints, schematics, photographs and technical manuals in performance of duties.
Load material on and off of skids, pallets, stands.
Prepare labels as required.
Prepares reports.
Operates tools and equipment in performance of duties.
Make preventive maintenance adjustments to equipment.
Minimum of 10years of general maintenance, constructions and/or building maintenance and repair required
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
Ability to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
Active TS/SCI clearance preferred
