About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Change Management and Communications Specialist to join our team in supporting the IRS. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing change initiatives and effectively communicating with various stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions and successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Change Management:

Develop and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance.

Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.

Design and execute change management activities, including training, communications, and stakeholder engagement.

Monitor and report on change management progress, identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies.

Provide coaching and support to leaders and managers to facilitate change initiatives.

Communications:

Develop comprehensive communication plans that align with change management strategies and project goals.

Craft clear, concise, and compelling messages for various communication channels, including emails, newsletters, presentations, and intranet updates.

Coordinate and execute communication activities, ensuring timely and consistent messaging.

Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and measure communication effectiveness.

Foster a culture of open communication and transparency within the organization.

Collaboration:

Work closely with project teams, including IT, HR, and business units, to integrate change management and communication efforts into overall project plans.

Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure seamless delivery of change management and communication initiatives.

Act as a liaison between project teams and stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Change Management, or a related field.

Proven experience in change management and communications, preferably within a federal agency or large organization.

Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Asana.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Certification in change management (e.g., Prosci) is a plus.
