Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Dahlgren, VA.
Like learning about new systems and leading-edge weapon systems capabilities? Come learn and explore new technologies, new software, new hardware, and development tools in support of the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile Program. Along the way, advise the Government by researching new concepts and technologies and developing and installing new Fleet capabilities.
Systems Engineer Responsibilities Include:
Supporting and managing installations for the SSBN-Replacement program.
Working with Strategic Systems Programs and supporting contractors.
Scheduling and managing installation efforts in both the US and UK for the SSBN-R fleet.
Minimum Requirements:
Technical degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and 2 years’ experience.
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
Ability to lead engineering teams in the development and sustainment of Fire Control and Auxiliary Systems design, integration and sustainment.
Initiative and willingness to work hard
Effective communication skills, both written and oral
Demonstrated ability to perform analysis and problem-solving techniques necessary to execute professional scientific/engineering work
Ability to work independently and with others within established teams, across organizations, to meet established goals within schedule driven timelines
Experience developing and presenting technical briefs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) or other SLBM organizations
Experience working with SSBN Fleet and an understanding of SSBN Installations.
