What Category Management Contributes to Velocare ™
Category Management is responsible for assessing customer needs, market conditions, and competition to inform the assortment of goods and services offered in the Velocare portfolio. The team builds and implements strategy through commercializing the appropriate products and services.
Category Management is responsible for cross -functional collaboration that helps to deliver sales, profitability, and inventory productivity goals by capitalizing on retail marketplace and purchaser trends in designated categories. Manages and optimizes supplier relationships and product portfolio to drive financial results, increase market share and exceed customer expectations.
Accountabilities in this role
Serve as internal subject matter expert on clinical products and services commonly used in care-at-home programs
Achieves gross margin goals for assigned categories
Has a deep understanding of P&L statements and ability to analyze opportunities.
Maintain organization throughout projects with many cross functional partners.
Collaborates with cross- functional stakeholders including Marketing, Legal, Quality, Regulatory, Planning, Inventory Management, Finance, Sales and Operations to gain internal alignment and gathers information necessary to execute category management tactics.
Continually monitors revenue and expenses for product category against established goals.
Track and trend key performance indicators for health of product portfolio
Manages and optimizes category assortment planning and processes, creating the most advantageous mix and positioning of products in the category.
Assesses sales trends and forecasts based on SKU data and evaluates implications for merchandising and pricing strategies.
Continuously improve product knowledge and selling related skills, to provide better value add to customers that differentiates Velocare from competitors
Understand the competitive landscape and be the on-the-ground market intelligence of Velocare (i.e. collect various customer data reports)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Active professional healthcare license including RN or LPN preferred
8 or more years’ clinical experience in a hospital, home health, or hospital-at-home setting preferred
Experience providing clinical education to non-clinical audiences.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Highly motivated, creative, able to operate effectively within a team.
Strong Excel skills with an emphasis on data analysis

Anticipated salary range: $103,500 – $147,900
