Responsibilities You will serve as the systems administrator for the Information Resources Management (IRM) Division, Financial Department of the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Directorate. You will apply knowledge of the elements of programming, systems analysis, and equipment operations to identify the nature and source of computer-related information processing problems and provide workable solutions. You will install hardware and software, maintains network operations, and ensures that inquiries and problems concerning networks, computers, peripherals, and services are expeditiously resolved. You will analyze a wide range of software requirements and determines if requests can be satisfied through procurement of available software or if existing software can be modified to satisfy requirements. You will prepare or assists in the preparation of solicitation for contracts to initiate, receive, analyze, coordinate and recommend modifications to the solicitation package to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility. You will develop and implement policies, procedures, and regulations related to application hosting and supporting application migrations to achieve security and reporting requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Performs diagnostics and maintenance as required and coordinates problems beyond scope of expertise with appropriate commercial vendors. 2. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Recommend support requests for network services by administering systems support. 3. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide formal or informal training ensuring users understand the relationships of the system and able to work with the system without interruption. 4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Test and analyze computer malfunctions to resolve physical operating problems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Provide a wide range of assignments related to areas of hardware installation, movement, maintenance, supply, repair, and property accountability; serve as the primary point of contact for hardware, software and telecommunications related problems and/or coordinates reporting for support personnel; creates new procedures, develops reports, and/or modifies programs to meet user needs; and participates with co-workers in preparing the information technology equipment budget. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position has been designated as a Cyberspace Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) work role of System Administrator proficiency level Intermediate and, as a condition of employment, the incumbent of the position is required to obtain and maintain qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023 and supporting Department of Navy policies. This designation requires the incumbent to: 1. Obtain the foundational qualification within nine months and the residential qualification within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for DCWF role of 451 System Administrator proficiency level Intermediate. For more information, please review DoDM 8140.03 and supporting DON policies. 2. Participate in continuous professional development program as described in DoDM 8140.03. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous professional development must be documented and completed in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor. Continuous professional development begins in the fiscal year after the employee has obtained both foundational and residential qualification requirements. 3. Acknowledge responsibilities in writing via command designation letter. Failure to meet a condition of employment may result in disciplinary and/or adverse action up to removal from federal service.
