Warehouse Specialist ( 2024-21726)
Bowhead seeks a full-time Warehouse Specialistto join our team in support of the Supply Services Division of Fort Jackson, SC.The Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) Warehouse Specialist performs warehouse duties within the ASP in accordance with Army policies, procedures, directives, and regulations.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions will include:
Receipt, sort, storage, and turn-in of residue, ammunition components, and ammunition related material.
Conduct periodic inventory of residue, ammunition components,and ammunition related material.
Interprets ammunition storage data, and transportation drawings for DOT shipments.
Loads and off loads explosives laden vehicles.
Performs 100% inspection of all returned residue to ensure it is explosive free.
Processes issues and turn-ins in accordance with established procedures.
In terms of Safety the applicant:
Wears prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ensures equipment is properly dispatched with a dispatch logbook and performs daily PMCS.
Maintains accountability and properly operates equipment under use.
Observes policies, procedures and regulatory guidance for explosive safety and OSHA.
Favorably interacts with internal/external customers.
Will be required, on an as needed basis, to assist to perform functions in alternate areas of the project.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
Essential requirements for this position are:
Licensed forklift operator 4K to 6K; knowledge of pallet building for shipment of residue; HAZMAT certification preferred.
Strong understanding of U.S. Army and DOD ammunition regulations preferred
Advanced knowledge of military ASP operations (U.S. Army preferred).
Must be able to complete AMMO-45, 67, 68 and 108 certifications.
Prior service as an MOS 89B (Ammunition Specialist) or similar military specialty code.(U.S. Army preferred).
Prior military and/or contingency operations experience.
Additional requirements may include:
Work under stressful circumstances and meet shorts suspense dates.
Must be free of medical restriction/ limitations that prevent the performance of required duties and/or prevent the wearing and utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Must be physically capable of performing the work in conditions of extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain and blowing sand and dust.
Employees shall utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices associated with all lifting and material handling tasks that are assigned and associated with this job description.
May be required to work on uncommon hours of duty, extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Responsible for handling A&E are physically able to perform TASP workload requirements, including being capable of lifting at least twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted, stooping, bending, climbing, and having normal color vision. Comply with DA PAM 611-21 Physical qualification requirements.
Operates material handling equipment (MHE) to maneuver ammunition and residue.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance for this position.
