Period of Work: Fall 2024 – Winter 2025

Location(s): Huntsville, AL

In Office Requirements: Hybrid onsite for 2 or 3 days per week.

The Modeling and Analysis Innovation Center – Systems Modeling Analysis leverages deep multi-disciplinary engineering expertise to drive innovation in the design, development, and integration of system models providing modeling and analysis of systems across diverse domains, including systems of systems, performance, digital, business processes, software development, and operational/mission analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate alongside MITRE engineers to design, develop, and implement solutions and technologies to create software tools that conduct modeling and simulation and enable efficient data analysis.

Learn how to apply computer science expertise, innovative concepts, and technology solutions to address every facet of our sponsors challenges from design to operations.

Gain introductory to intermediate understanding of modelling and simulation tools provided through AFSIM, an operational analysis tool used in Government Acquisition efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

Sustained excellence in academic performance

Rising High School Junior/Senior with interest in computer science, software engineering, modelling and simulation, and data science

Basic knowledge programming languages such as C/C and/or Python

Demonstrated interest in learning more about software engineering

Have related experience gained from academic study and related intern/coop work

High level desire to help their nation solve its most critical problems.

Exhibits the characteristics of a continuous learner.

An interdisciplinary approach to problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated interest in serving the public

A proven track record of applying Computer Science and Software Engineering to problem sets outside of academic settings
