JOB SUMMARY
Expert in hospital products and services. Knowledge of storing, handling and maintaining of hospital supplies. Develop and maintain packing, inventory, and shipping processes. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the warehouse. Supervises employees within department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Education/Regulatory Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in handling hospital supplies is desired but not essential; should be proficient in performing assigned tasks within two months of hire date.
Safety Requirements:
Lock all doors daily before leaving the warehouse.
Keep all cutting materials in a safe place and in safe condition.
Use caution in opening boxes that are fastened with staples.
Observe principles of good body mechanics when lifting and moving objects.
Notice any spills on floors.
Make sure it is cleaned up immediately and properly.
Place step stools and ladders out of the way, so as to not obstruct traffic flow.
Have knowledge of the placement of fire alarms and extinguishers.
Report immediately any power cord that has been frayed, worn, burned or cut insulation.
Use hand trucks to move large objects of large quantities or of weight, so as to prevent injury.
Stay clear of the dock until trucks have stopped completely.
Skills :
Shipping and receiving clerks need to have excellent organization skills, enabling them to quickly locate merchandise for distribution or placement within the warehouse.
Strong communication is a requirement, due to the amount of interaction with vendors, management, and co-workers.
Shipping and receiving clerks also must have a firm grasp of how to operate heavy equipment used to move merchandise, as well as the strength and stamina needed to spend a lot of time on their feet and lifting packages.
