Summary About the Position: Position serves as Chief of the Retention and Reclassification Branch with responsibility for providing technical expertise regarding policies/regulations and force alignment of the Retention and Reclassification programs. Position is in Human Resources Command (HRC), Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate (EPMD), at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Responsibilities Review, recommends, and/or approves eligibility and/or entitlement personnel actions submitted by subordinate organizations. Responsible for ensuring Retention and Reclassification decisions are aligned with Army readiness. Supervise a group of employees (8 military and 16 civilian employees) and provides direction to 900 Army Career Counselors engaged in Human Resource functions. Responsible for tracking all career management fields strengths and structure changes to identify Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) imbalances and to develop plans to correct the imbalances in support of personnel readiness. Provide comprehensive and direct advice and guidance to the G1, ACOM/installations, the Retention Community and individual Soldiers and Commanders through special on-site visits, by telephone conference, and/or written correspondence. One year of specialized experience which includes: Participate in overseeing the execution and implementation of the Departments policy on Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) reclassification programs and ensures levels of services are consistent world-wide. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-13). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
