2nd Shift
The Role:
The Extruder Operator is responsible and accountable for ensuring all formulas are manufactured according to Q&FS specifications and QMP standards in support of the Company’s Quality and Food Safety principles
Key Responsibilities:
Is the main point of contact for all resources in the processing area of the plant
Coordinates all processing area activities and a safe, food safe, and efficient manner in alignment with shift, area, and plant goals
Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within a line or area
Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Takes corrective actions in solving problems to root cause level
Assess equipment operating reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments and malfunction troubleshooting
Performs and/or works with Maintenance to complete equipment preventive maintenance
Maintains accurate records of QC checks, production numbers or waste performance
Performs all shift support documentation in a quality matter
Performs QC tasks such as magnet checks, inspection of date codes, item numbers, dump logs, equipment attributes, all extruder and dryer system process control checks, etc.
Demonstrates high degree of ownership for product quality: Performs all standard quality checks & other quality related duties
Understands production schedules, production computer systems, work instructions and production inventories
Must be forklift certified or have the ability to qualify
All associates are responsible for the safety, quality and food safety in their work area
Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words and spirit
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Standing on a concrete floor
Must be capable of working at elevated heights and or confined space
Wear proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)
Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs.
Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals
Minimum Qualifications:
Be 18 years of age or older
Have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment
2 years of work experience within manufacturing
Working knowledge of food safety practices
Computer Experience
Knowledge of inventory control principles
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $22.10 – $26.00 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
