Accounting Assistant

Job Overview
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for analyzing and processing Accounts Payable transactions including verifying and reconciling invoices timely and accurately.
Job Responsibilities
– Maintain Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) systems.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and disputes in a timely manner.
– Review non-PO invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
– Research and resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies.
– Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
– Answer all vendor inquires.
– Back up Senior Accounting Assistant as needed
– Contribute to the continuous improvement of Accounts Payable processes and procedures.
– Assists with special projects, as necessary.
– Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
– All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
Required Education and Experience
– High School diploma or GED.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office.
– Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
– Maintain confidentiality.
– Good attention to detail.
– Good time management skills.
– No travel required.
Preferred Education and Experience
– Associates Degree.
– 3 plus years of accounts payable experience
– SAP experience.
– Prior Manufacturing Accounts Payable experience is a plus.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting.
Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35F to 100F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
