Environmental Engineer Associate

Job Description
Support companys efforts to ensure compliance with all EHS program expectations and applicable federal, state and local regulations, and company policies and procedures. Support and maintain the sites EHS Management System (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) program and registrations. This role requires the ability to gather and analyze data, then use it to develop recommendations and educate employees on specific EHS matters.
Duties include:
Collect, manage and report EHS data for periodic EHS regulatory documents and metrics. Maintain EHS management system (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) documents, internal audits, and related processes and program elements.
Support EHS risk assessments related to jobs performed by employees, and develop and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Support and assist others (managers, employees, etc.) to complete their safety and compliance responsibilities (audits, follow safety rules, etc.)
Support EHS compliance inspections and audits, enforce EHS policies and regulations, and ensure corrective actions are monitored and documented.
Support waste management and disposal activities and ensure compliance with applicable RCRA and DOT requirements.
Be familiar with and support SARA Title III reporting requirements.
Be familiar with Ohios Industrial Storm water Management requirements.
Assist with completing and documenting all regulatory compliance activities through the EHS Calendar according to regulatory deadlines.
Maintain GDLS Limas environmental permits.
Maintain current knowledge of environmental, occupational health and safety and material transportation legislation.
Perform Contractor / Service Provider Safety Briefings.
Support the investigation of incidents including HAZMAT spills/releases, employee injuries and near-miss incidents.
Monitor closure of effective corrective / preventive actions, as assigned.
Review SDS for new materials for approval for use within GDLS.
Support state and federal agencies such as State Environmental agencies, EPA, OSHA, DOT inspections and information requests.
Develop, deliver and support EHS / Safety Talks and campaigns.
Perform other EHS-related duties, as assigned.
