Job Purpose:
To perform design, development, and maintenance of new or existing products and components. As a Senior Associate Engineer in the Large Power Systems Division Core Packaging Group, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the concept, development, and design of mechanical systems. You will collaborate with other Engineers and cross functional teams while contributing to the planning and delivery of projects on cost, quality and time.
What you will do:
Collaborate with experienced engineers to develop and implement practical product design using technical principles and standard work
Prepares concept, design and development of feasibility studies for engineering projects
Create or update engineering drawings
Support resolution of production and factory issues
Collaborate with suppliers for design, process, cost and deviation evaluation
Support component and supplier strategy initiatives
Investigate field issues and develop design fixes to improve reliability and durability of the product
Support validation activities
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology curriculum or relevant experience
Top Candidates will also have:
Electrical engineering understanding
Proficiency in Creo or other modeling or simulation tools
Experience in Mechanical System Integration and/or fabrication
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of APQP, NPI, CPI and NTI processes is a plus
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Exhibited the ability to begin working independently and have demonstrated ability to apply theory and concept, either through on-the-job experience or advanced degree

Information Capture: Working knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
Standard Operating Procedures: Working knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.
Analytical Thinking: Working knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Effective Communications: Working understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Working Knowledge of design for manufacturability guidelines, methodologies, and use cases; ability to use this knowledge to optimize product designs and manufacturing operations.
Engineering – MFG: Working knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
