Job Description
This position serves as the Michigan Crash Analysis Tool (Mi-CAT) application administrator. Mi-CAT is the web-based crash visualization tool that requires extensive knowledge of traffic crash data, database structure, and how to integrate data into the dashboard application. This position will ensure development of dashboard visualizations that meet the needs of traffic safety partners around the state. This position will also oversee the public dashboard to display Michigan traffic crash statistics and serve as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders. This position will also work with the vendor for the Mi-CAT application to provide training to users. This position is responsible for the webmaster duties for the TCRU web page and will design, create, maintain, and post public facing reports, visualizations, and dashboards. This position must perform functions in a bias free manner.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service.

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience
Four years of experience as an advanced 9-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
OR
Three years of experience as an E9, E10, or E11-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
OR
Two years of experience as an experienced level worker in an ECP Group One technician or paraprofessional classification.
OR
Two years of experience as a first-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
OR
One year of experience as a second-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
Paraprofessional classifications are those requiring an associates degree or two years of college.
Educational Substitution
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
