Position Summary

Assists with curriculum preparation, classroom facilitation, and student monitoring to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development. Interacts regularly with parents.

Responsibilities

Assists with the planning and facilitation of classroom programming and classroom coordination and organization for a early childhood education facility according to established curriculums

Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom

Updates and organizes individualized and developmental educational plans for children

Assists with basic technical and administrative classroom support

Documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Required:

High school diploma

Be at least 18 years of age and meet DCF 251.05 (3) (g)

Experience working with young children.

Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff

Able to acquire Registry Certificate at a level 5 or higher or eligibility to register at level 5

Completed approved childcare course or willing to complete online within 6 months of start date

CPR certified within 6 months of start date

Successful completion of a post-offer employment test.

Preferred:

Associate degree in early childhood or related field

Two years or more experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool aged children in a classroom.

Knowledge of Department of Children and Families Division of Early Care and Education ( DCF 251)
