Summary
CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity in the Strategic Sourcing department. We are looking for a Buyer to join our growing team. The Buyer is responsible for the day-to-day purchasing operations. In this role, you will purchase, distribute bids, source suppliers, materials, and equipment necessary to support the Global Grain terminals, oilseed and sunflower processing plants, ethanol, and crop nutrients locations.
This position is a hybrid schedule out of our global corporate headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, MN.
Responsibilities
Own purchasing process for the global Ag Business group
Process purchase requisitions for capital, materials, and goods
Issue and maintain purchase orders
Review quotes, terms, and conditions of suppliers
Responsible for daily vendor communications
Review acknowledgements
Resolve discrepancies and communicate resolutions to requestors
Compile material required for Request for Quote (RFQ) packages for all departments in the Ag Business division
Complete information for vendor/price evaluations
Coordinate, issue, and review supplier scorecards
Review and coordinate monthly blanket purchases
Complete special projects as assigned by Sourcing department leadership team as needed
Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
High School diploma or GED
2 years of experience in relevant purchasing and/or supply chain experience
Additional Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Manufacturing, Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Systems Engineering, Statistics (or related field).Knowledge of Purchasing Best Business Practice, Math, & Ethic preferred
Purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
SAP, Ariba Network and/or Coupa experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to influence and negotitate
Strong decision making skills
