Job Description
The QA Technician will support the quality and operational teams in the sugar processing operation. In this role, you will perform laboratory analysis and monitor the operation while maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with the Quality and Food Safety systems in a GFSI certified facility.
Perform routine analysis on raw materials, in process and final products to ensure that finished products meet required specifications prior to releasing shipments
Conduct product release procedures and generate Certificates of Analysis
Perform calibration of lab equipment
Perform plant wide monitoring activities to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices, safety, food safety and quality assurance practices
Maintain proper documentation in all formats of record keeping in a legible manner
Report concise and professional communication in all forms; verbal, written and electronically

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Environment
This position requires physical activities such as climbing stairs or ladders, working at heights, lifting up to 50lbs, operating test equipment, and mobility between departments. The work is primarily indoors, with some outdoor tasks. The noise level is medium to loud, with exposure to sugar dust, steam, heat, uneven surfaces, high humidity, slippery floors, cold, and mechanical hazards. The schedule involves 12-hour shifts on a (2 on 3 off) (2 on 2 off) (3 on 2 off) rotation, 24/7 operation, including swing day and night shifts. Current position: 6pm – 6am, with the need to be open to working day shifts as needed.
