Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. We are seeking innovative professionals from diverse backgrounds to fill the position of Coordinator of Student Success and Accessibility Services to join the Center for Academic and Professional Excellence (CAPE) team.The Coordinator of Student Success and Accessibility Services is responsible for providing professional academic support to students to help them persist through graduation by overseeing the peer tutor program, including tutor training and scheduling, administering classroom Supplemental Instruction (SI) and training student SI leaders, and managing academic accommodations by reviewing documentation and coordinating services.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:•Administer classroom Supplemental Instruction (SI) and train student SI leaders;•Coordinate and oversee The Peer Tutoring Center, including the tutor schedule and tutor hiring and training; •Organize specific course study groups, based on need;•Oversee Peer Mentoring program, including training and hiring of peer mentors; •Review documentation of disability, including psychological, medical, academic, and educational assessments, and recommend reasonable accommodations for students; •Provide orientation support for undergraduate and graduate students receiving accommodations and their families, and provide continued support through scheduled periodic meetings with students;•Coordinate services and equipment necessary for reasonable accommodations, including assistive technology and software; •Set-up and maintain a database system for monitoring and reporting on the number of students with disabilities, their needs, and effectiveness of service delivery for program improvement purposes;•Create programming based on students’ needs and wants in collaboration with the CAPE team.QUALIFICATIONS: •Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field;•Experience in assisting others with academic skills;•Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment;•Strong service attitude;•Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; and•Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, the Learning Management System, and Google Suite.WORK LOCATION: Elmira, NY – NOT RemoteCOMPENSATION: $26 – $28 per hourThis position is benefit eligible.
