THE POSITION
Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration has an immediate need to fill County Caseworker 1 position. Our mission is to enrich lives by providing choice and access to resources that encourage hope, independence, and recovery.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
What is the Role of a County Caseworker 1?
The County Caseworker 1 will identify an individuals support needs and preferences through development of an Individualized Service Plan (ISP). A County Caseworker 1 will locate options for services that meet the needs of individuals including, but not limited to, traditional providers, community and natural supports. Additional duties include facilitating a person-centered planning process; ensuring services are received as outlined in the ISP; ensuring the health and safety of those supported; and promoting individuality, choice, and control in customers lives. You will link customers to services, resources, and benefits. It is our goal to provide quality supports and quality information through the monitoring of the health and safety of people receiving supports and services.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
A bachelors degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Fayette County. If no eligible candidates who live within Fayette County apply for this position, candidates who reside in Allegheny, Greene, Somerset, Washington, and Westmoreland counties will be considered. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
This particular position also requires you to possess a valid drivers license which is not under suspension.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
