Position Summary

 

This position contributes to the elimination of homelessness in Fayette County by overseeing Affordable Housing and Supportive Services programs.  This role also works side by side with Housing Caseworkers to provide direct housing services to assigned clients.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

– Manages Projects in accordance with funder, agency, and regulatory requirements.
– Provides on-going leadership and oversight to assigned Housing Coordinators to ensure the project is delivered within scope and budgetary requirements
– Hires, manages and trains program staff in accordance with position requirements
– Sets staff goals and provides on-going performance management and coaching
– Manages employee timekeeping in accordance with program requirements
– Provides regular project status reports to the Director of Operations
– Manages relationships with community housing resources and landlords within the region
– Oversees program budget ensuring expenditures are within budgetary guidelines
– Performs additional management duties as assigned

 

 

Direct Service

– Works with individual clients as needed to facilitate access to appropriate social services including mainstream benefits, (SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, Medicare), mental health services, drug and alcohol services, community integration services, and other appropriate resources as required based on individual need

– Works with clients to develop individual goals, plans, and budgets and provides referrals to programs that will assist clients in achieving their plan

– Coordinates the process of leasing, landlord negotiations, and contracts; or, assists in the acquisition of bridge housing

– Completes home inspections to ensure structures meet HSQ standards

– Conducts regular client visits to determine individual progress, identify issues, and ensure needed services are being delivered

– Coordinates inspections cleaning, and turnover for transition housing units

– May Coordinate VOCA assistance to meet long-term housing stability needs

– Establishes supportive and understanding relationships with landlords

– Completes all state and agency required training

– Performs other related duties as assigned

– Education/Experience

– Bachelors degree in social work, Psychology, or closely related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

– Three or more years of management experience with experience working with housing programs preferred

– Non-profit program or project management experience preferred

– Experience managing contracts and financial reporting

– Ability to network and communicate well via e-mail, telephone, and events

– Ability to plan and organize work and staffing schedules

Computer Skills

– Intermediate MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

– Experience using customer relations systems preferred

Additional Requirements

– Must possess and retain a valid drivers license and a clean driving record to facilitate client visits

– Ability to successfully pass and retain acceptable Federal and State criminal background check and State of Pennsylvania Child Abuse screening

– Meets project goals relating to number of clients served and quality of services delivered

– Timely delivery of backpacks to partner school

– Delivers services within program scope and within projected budget and timelines

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in multiple settings including client homes.  Some work is performed in an office setting while other tasks require travel up to 30% (to conduct home and client visits).  Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time required.  Some light lifting, carryi g, pushing, or pulling are required to carry visit materials and perform basic office functions.  Ability to climb stairs to enter client apartments and homes required.  Requires manual dexterity to use a keyboard and enter client/business information.
