DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Certified Nurses Aide working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will encompass various areas including Skilled Care, Personal Care, Outpatient services, and the General Population. Daily tasks will involve executing fundamental nursing skills and procedures to ensure optimal health and quality care for inmates, along with completing necessary documentation. You will be required to collect specimens such as urine, feces, and sputum as instructed by the Registered Nurse. Additionally, you will assist inmates with daily living activities and hygiene to address their basic physical care needs. Engagement in Life Skills programming will involve adhering to nursing care plan directives, delivering care tailored to the inmates needs, and documenting relevant aspects of the nursing care plan. In emergency situations, you will perform necessary emergency procedures, such as CPR and managing obstructed airways, and participate in assigned emergency response drills.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40 hours/week, with rotating days off.
Work hours will be determined at the time of hire. The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
1st shift 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
2nd shift 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
3rd shift 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirement:
This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
