The N927 Mission Engineering Department delivers technology and domain expertise to the Office of the IC Chief Information Officer in response to evolving priorities, capabilities, and technologies; to reliably enable missions throughout the IC and deliver insights to intelligence consumers and partners.

Roles and Responsibilities: In this role, you will be a member of the MITRE team working in a multi-agency environment developing, coordinating, and implementing cybersecurity initiatives and policy across the 18 Intelligence Community agencies. You will serve as a cybersecurity advisor to senior government leaders and serve as an interface between cutting-edge technical experts (MITRE and government) pairing mission needs with achievable policy decisions and outcomes. You will provide cyber, analytic, and systems engineering thinking and expertise to organization and technology specific policy, plans, and processes, enabling the adoption and deployment of modern technology and information assurance processes.

Develop and deliver innovative, insightful, and persuasive strategies for senior government leaders and their IC Component partners.

Partner with senior executive government officials, providing technical and strategic advice to achieve IC and DoD adjectives.

Advance the Government’s adoption of state-of-the-art technology, cybersecurity, and data assurance capabilities and practices to ensure the mission success of the IC.

Basic Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph clearance

Due to the lengthy clearance process, candidates without an existing TS/SCI clearance with CI or FS polygraph cannot be considered for this opening.

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years’ experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 6 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; 3 years’ experience with a Ph.D.; or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.

Experience working with National, Intelligence Community, and DoD cybersecurity policies and guidance.

Experience and Knowledge of cyber risk management and government policy.

Basic understanding of the role of standards and how they are used to design and implement secure, resilient systems.

Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and ICD-503.

Superior customer engagement and communication skills to be able to work seamlessly across MITRE, government, and contractor teams.

Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to succinctly capture salient issues and provide seniors with fact-based, actionable, and relevant technical solutions.

This position requires a minimum of 5 days a week on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance

Master’s Degree in one of the above listed disciplines

10 plus years of experience with developing, implementing, integrating, maintaining, and or evaluating cybersecurity technologies.

Experience with Computer Network Defense, to include cybersecurity incident response, analysis, design of DND systems such as intrusion detection or prevention systems, signature development, and or familiarity and use of Security Event Management technologies and functions.

Experience in process design/improvement and application of technical concepts into comprehensive strategy.

Experience with cybersecurity technologies and tools, trends, and emerging capabilities.

Demonstrated experience leading working groups and collaborating with cyber security and policy professionals across the intelligence community.

Certification from CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or NCSF.

Experience with certification and accreditation processes, including security engineering and security architecture, as well as implementing processes for enterprise architectures in the intelligence community.

Experience working with current Risk Management Framework related policy guidance and related legacy policy guidance. May include NIST RMF, NIST CSF, DoD 8500, CNSSI Instructions, Cybersecurity Executive Orders, NIST SP 800 Series instructions, and NISPOM.

Salary compensation range and midpoint:

$151,000 – $188,500 – $226,000 Annual
