Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will respond to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and/or a Rescue Team which associated vehicle and equipment. You will use fire prevention techniques, fire safety for inspection of buildings and spill response response. You will act as the driver/operator of an emergency response pumper/ladder, brush fire fighting, ambulance, hazardous material response, or other rescue vehicle as required. You will perform through safety and maintenance inspections on emergency transport vehicles, providing first echelon maintenance repairs as required. You will conduct a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of their condition ad searches for alert symbols. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing fire protection services to protect property and the environment which includes rescue and emergency medical services (wounds, trauma, fluid therapy etc.), conducting safety and maintenance inspections on emergency transport vehicles and performing first echelon maintenance repairs as needed. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
