Summary You will serve as a CRANE OPERATOR in the Cranes Operations Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. Responsibilities You will operate multiple types of hydraulic boon cranes to load, unload, move and position heavy material and equipment. You will work from hand, radio and other approved types of signals to position items where is there restricted maneuverability. You will complete operators daily checklist to document pre and post crane inspections. You will use load charts to determine cranes lifting capacity in relation to the position of the boom and to compensate for variations in a cranes lifting capacity. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a WG-5725-11 Crane Operator without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by the following tasks: 1) Operating boom cranes to load, unload, move and position material with restricted maneuver ability requiring critical accuracy; 2) Determining the weight of the load to be lifted; 3) Rigging loads to be lifted by boom cranes. 4) Performing required operators maintenance, inspections, and reporting; and 5) Working from hand, radio or other approved types of signals for crane operations. The incumbent serving in this position may at any time be reassigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area as a condition of employment.
