Bell Captain

Supervise bellpersons, doorpersons and drivers as well as perform the daily responsibilities of these positions in accordance with established guest service and sustainability standards.

Position Requirements

– High School diploma preferred.
– Previous experience working in a related function in a hotel required.

Essential Job Functions

– Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
– Evaluate the staffing requirements and prepare work schedules weekly, adhering to budget goals and ensuring sufficient staffing to meet daily business demands.
– Maintain security of and accurate records for all guest room keys issued to bell and door staff.
– Accommodate guest requests.
– Coordinate group luggage requirements.
– Monitor and maintain cleanliness and working condition of departmental equipment/supplies.
– Ensure that pertinent information is documented in the log book daily.
– Load and unload luggage carts.
– Tag and store luggage.
– Escort guests to hotel rooms.
– Provide an overview of guest room, hotel services and amenities.
– Make deliveries to guest rooms.
– Assist guest with room changes.
– Maintain list/brochures of local attractions, transportation guides, churches, sports arenas, etc.
– Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
– Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHMs EarthView program.
– Follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
– Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
– Perform other duties as requested by management.

Work Environment and Context

– Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.
– Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, bending and reaching.
